Welcome to Taylor-Majors Fine Art, where fine art and passion meet.

Taylor-Majors Fine Art is the dream of two passionate art collectors who now spend vacations, weekends and the odd holiday visiting galleries, attending museum exhibitions and participating in workshops across the country.  Our adventures in art started with a simple Christmas present of a paint by the numbers set.  But an experience in Laguna Beach proved the catalyst that changed us from occasional gallery visitor to certifiable art groupies.

We were in Laguna Beach Art Supply debating the type of brushes I needed when we had our first “brush” with a professional artist.  There next to us, listening in wry amusement to our debate, was Gil Dellinger, a renowned artist and one of those responsible for the “Sea to Shining Sea” plein air exhibition that has been traveling the country.  Gil realized our dilemma, suggested several brushes, and invited us to watch him paint that afternoon by the Montage Hotel.  Not ones to miss such an opportunity, we accepted his offer.  For the first time, I witnessed the magic of an artist bringing a blank canvas to life.  Gil graciously explained what he was doing and patiently answered the many questions I asked.  My enthusiasm won over Gil for he invited me to attend a workshop he was giving the following year at a 12th century castle in France.  It was as if my childhood fantasies were being brought to life.  The week in France painting with Gil forever changed my life and its priorities.  Art became the fundamental core of my existence; work was just a way to acquire art and pursue my interest in becoming a painter.

Our collection now exceeds 80 pieces and hangs wherever a nail can be pounded or an easel placed.  Most importantly, we have met virtually every artist we have collected, have become friends with many of them, and have watched with pride as the careers of several artists we discovered have taken off. Almost without exception, each piece of our collection has a special story and meaning to it.

We hope you enjoy the pieces shown and the stories we are sharing with you.

Aurevoir!
